Sipho Zulu from the Vusumzi Section of Thembisa is the founder and owner of Tembisa Poison FC. The 48-year-old founded the team in 2021, intending to take the young boys off the streets and help them fulfil their dreams of playing at the highest level. Tembisa Poison FC consists of five (5) divisions, from Under 9, 11, 13, 25, to 17, respectively, and new players are still welcome to join. “I already have nine (9) players who are playing in the DGL. I have players at Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy,” explains Sipho.
Tembisa Poison FC emphasises the principles of respect amongst the players and to always be focused and disciplined. The achievements of the team so far include their Under 13 finishing 2nd on the log last year and winning two (2) trophies, plus soccer kits. Under 15 won three (3) trophies and two soccer kits. Zulu, a pharmacist by profession, says, “My plan is to win the league with the Under 13s and 15s and to increase the number of players playing in the DGL.”In spite of their successes so far, Tembisa Poison FC needs sponsorship as it relates to transport fees, soccer boots, bibs for training, soccer balls, and cones.
” To my teams, let’s keep focused so that we can achieve our dreams of winning the league. To our supporters, let’s continue to support every day when the boys are playing.”
