Amanda Chauke, aged 21, is a dedicated young leader, author, and advocate for social change. Born and raised in Thembisa, Clayville, she is the Founder and Chairperson of the Amanda Seeds of Growth Foundation, an organisation established to address poverty, uplift underprivileged communities, and empower individuals through education, health promotion, and social support initiatives. Amanda’s journey of leadership and service began at an early age, rooted in her passion for human development and community well-being. She holds a Higher Certificate in Health Promotion Officer and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Psychology, where she continues to excel academically, passing her first year with distinctions and striving toward graduating cum laude. Her academic background has provided her with a strong foundation in health, psychology, and human behaviour, which she integrates into her community development work.
As an award-winning poet and published author, Amanda has used her voice and writing as tools of empowerment. Her book, Misery and Trepidation, carries a profound message: while past experiences may shape individuals, they do not define them. With support, resilience, and guidance, people can overcome adversity, embrace growth, and create meaningful change. Her creative work reflects her commitment to inspiring hope and building a culture of healing and transformation.
Through the Amanda Seeds of Growth Foundation, Amanda has committed herself to driving impactful initiatives such as food drives for families facing hunger, the distribution of sanitary products to young girls, and awareness campaigns on health, wellness, and mental well-being. The foundation also seeks to promote youth talents, foster leadership, and strengthen community bonds through the principles of Ubuntu and collective responsibility.As Chairperson, Amanda brings vision, compassion, and accountability to her leadership role.
