Bukiwe “Anaconda” Nonina is a female boxer originally from the North West Province, but currently is based in the Vusumzi Section of Thembisa. She started playing soccer, but in 2009 was persuaded by her father, Million Nonina, to take up boxing. Turning 34 years on 24 November 2025, she started playing soccer, but in 2009, she was persuaded by her father, Million Nonina, to take up boxing and fell in love with the sport. With her record of skill, determination, and heart, she was internationally recognised as the best female boxer in 2011.”I boast an impressive record of 26 fights, with 20 victories, 4 losses, and 2 draws. My journey to becoming a boxing icon has been shaped by discipline, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence both in and out of the ring.

Trained by Xolisani Ndongeni, Bukiwe has 26 professional fights (20 wins, 2 draws, and 4 losses) behind her. Her fights have been featured across all TV and radio spots, programmes in Mzansi. With her number 1 fan and partner, Sophy Matshepo Mashigo, in her corner, Nonina’s future plans include competing for a major title within the next 12 – 18 months and going back to expanding her international exposure and representing South African boxing globally. She hopes to inspire young women through mentorship and motivational work and build a fitness and boxing brand under the “Nonina” name.
