The Tembisa Queens Festival NPC League is a soccer league that was launched in March 2025 by Ms Bonolo Mokoatle. Her aim is to revive women’s football in Thembisa whilst creating a conducive platform for raw talent in relation to both players and coaches.
Growing from strength to strength, the NPC League is made up of 12 teams, all from around Thembisa, thus highlighting the massive talent and love for women’s football there is in Thembisa. The league uses the Xubene Ground as their home field, and Ms Mokoatle is appreciative of the Xubene community for allowing them to use the facility.
The 2025 league season will come to its conclusion on the 1st of November 2025. The Top 8 is basically league fixtures that will decide the actual Championship on the day; however, all 12 teams will be playing. “On the Finale, we will be handing over soccer kits to all 12 teams, courtesy of BestDrive Tembisa, who will be with us even next season, from April – October 2026,” explained Ms Mokoatle. The number 1 winner will walk away with the grand prize of R10 000, the 2nd place winner R5 000, and the 3rd place winner R3 000, respectively. “Noteworthy, at the beginning of this year, we hosted a First Aid Course for the coaches, preparing them for this long, tense season, in partnership with Tembisa Hospital (EMS).
ShoutitN also came on board with sanitary pads and first aid kits for the teams. The packs of playing in this league don’t end here,” she said.The league consists of 12 teams, namely Rainbow Ladies, JMST, Golden Warriors 13, Golden Girls, Mighty Lions, Bodise SD, Magazi FC, Super Eagles, Birch Acres FC, Shiny Diamonds, Vyk and Home Defenders.
