On Friday, 28 November 2025, the City of Ekurhuleni, led by the MMC for Developmental Planning and Real Estate, Cllr Nomadlozi Nkosi— participated in the EPWP Community of Practice.
The gathering at Anew Hotel Convention Centre, OR Tambo, reaffirmed the City’s collective commitment to expanding opportunities, strengthening community resilience, and empowering vulnerable groups through innovative and sustainable EPWP pathways. It was also attended by Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Namane Dickson Masemola.The City joined NPOs, government partners, and innovators to explore new ways of enhancing waste management, food security, and economic participation through the EPWP. MMC Nkosi reaffirmed Ekurhuleni’s commitment to turning public programmes into platforms for long-term socio-economic mobility. From recycling enterprises to urban farming models, the City celebrated NPOs whose innovation strengthens communities and transforms lives.
“EPWP is not just temporary relief, it is a gateway to dignity, skills, and long-term opportunity. This is how we build a City that works and cares for all its people.” Said MMC Nkosi.
