OPERATION SHANELA NETS MULTIPLE ARRESTS

Many arrested were effected during the Provincial Operation Shanela conducted in Thembisa and Thembisa South areas on Saturday 2025-12-06 from 18: 00 till Sunday 2025-12-07 where 56 illegal immigrants were arrested, 24 suspect arrested for drunk and driving, 7 illegal shebeens shut down, 5 suspects for possession of drugs, 1 for dealing in drugs, 1 for dealing in dagga, 1 for possession of stolen property, 13 traffic fines issued to the value of R 7700, 00, and 2x vehicles seized from the road block.

Members of SAPS Ekurhuleni District Crime Intelligence also arrested 6 suspects for possession of drugs, 4 for dealing in drugs and 1 for dealing in dagga. SAPS, together with EMPD, also arrested 4 suspects for possession of a stolen motor vehicle – a Toyota Land Cruiser in Ivory Park. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen during housebreaking and theft in Heibron, in the Free State Province.
