The District Commissioner of Ekurhuleni, Major General Anna Sithole, was invited as a keynote speaker by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department at their inter-departmental Prayer Day for Women in Uniform on Friday, 1 August 2025.The day’s tone was set by a sermon themed “Make peace with your journey”, focused on strength, resilience and every woman’s unique journey in life by Chaplain Ms Manganyi. Major General Sithole touched on different dynamics faced by all women in uniform and encouraged “women should work hard and step out of their comfort zones.”The occasion was attended by the Chief of Police of Tshwane, Ms Y Faro, Acting Head of Department Mr J Mkhwanazi, Divisional Head of EMS Mr M Makhubalo, Dr Jemina Modise, Chaplain Ms Manganyi and Ms S Maupa, who represented the office of the Executive Mayor participated and supported the initiative of the Women in uniform Prayer event.These principals led the women in uniform from different law enforcement agencies including South African Defence Force (SANDF), South Africa Police Service (SAPS), Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), National Traffic Police (NTP), Gauteng Traffic Police (GTP), Correctional Services, Gauteng Emergency Services Department, Disaster and Emergency Services and Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens.
