MOSHUMO CATERING, QUALITY AND AFFORDABILITY

Sivenathi Sifikelwe Sapepa, affectionately known as Sive, owns a catering business called Moshumo Catering. “Moshumo means we work or strive to meet our customers’ needs.” Explains Sive. She started her business in 2020 to provide customers with affordable quality and exceptional service. The 31-year-old caters to both corporate and private events such as birthday parties, baby showers, Christenings, get-togethers, and anything in between.“We have a wide variety of platters such as meat, fruit, and cheese, etc., and we cater for any number of people of not more than 200 since the business is still small,” Sive tells The Olifants. Moshumo Catering is situated at Modderfontein Road, President Park in Midrand. They are open seven days a week; however, Sivenathi prefers customers to make an appointment first. The prices depend on what you prefer, as the meat platter is R550, the fruit platter is R350, the fruit and cheese is R450, and the breakfast platter is R350.The mother of two was born in Umthatha at Mbuqe Extension in the Eastern Cape. Sapepa’s passion for food started when she was just 12 years old. She used to, and still does, watch food shows on television. In 2015, she worked as a waitress at Velmore Hotel in Pretoria. “As a waitress, you have to learn and know the menu. My love for food grew even more because I had a platform to learn more about the food industry,” she explains. In 2019, Sive completed her Business Management Course. But after three years without employment and needing money, she thought of starting a business, and, of course, that is when Moshumo Catering opened its doors in 2020.At Moshumo Catering, you can mix and match guided by what is in her catalogues on her social pages. Locally, they charge a delivery fee of R100. “I would like to grow my business where I will be able to cater to a large number of people, e.g. weddings, employ more people, and open a restaurant.
