Palesa Mailula from Winnie Mandela in Thembisa is a community advocate for people living with disabilities and the founder of the Dipalesa Foundation.
She is passionate about promoting inclusion for people living with disabilities and is the brains behind the Rea Tshwana Initiative. As a humanitarian, Palesa is a finalist for The Phyllis Games, an unforgettable experience for the community, especially for those who cannot afford to go to stadiums to watch their favourite football stars but can enjoy the pleasure of watching them play in their own backyards. “I entered the Miss Phyllis Games to promote unity and inclusion in our community, aligning with my values and the Rea Tshwana Initiative’s mission. I’m drawn to the brand’s commitment to community development and its potential to amplify my message.” Said Palesa. As an ambassador for the Miss Phyllis Games, Mailula will promote inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities for people living with disabilities, leveraging the Phyllis Games platform to raise awareness and drive change.
“I’ll also help increase community engagement, promote the brand’s values, and support its mission to bring people together.” She adds. Palesa says she envisions a future where everyone, including those living with disabilities in the community, has equal opportunities to participate and thrive. The Grand Finale of the Miss Phyllis Games 2025 will be held on December 6, 2025, at the Moses Molelekwa Art Centre in Thembisa, next to the Makhulong Stadium. Tickets are available at R100 per person.
